Will Vitamin E Cause Acne?

If acne is known to be caused primarily by clogging of skin pores due to dirt accumulation and excessive production of sebum or body oil, there have been studies that suggest that lack of several vitamins can be a culprit. There are several urban myths and wrong beliefs claiming that some vitamins and nutrients may lead to the skin disease due to the secretion of more body oil. Will vitamin e cause acne? Some people are asking because there are unfounded beliefs that claim so.

For the information of all, vitamin e is among those vitamins that do not lead to any form of ailments when there is deficiency of. But the presence of Vitamin E will not be a cause for acne as well. On the contrary, it has been found that even miniscule amounts of the vitamin produces huge benefits in improving and boosting the body’s immune system. Vitamin E has strong and reliable anti-oxidant features that help protect the body from any oxidative damage.

The antioxidant properties of Vitamin E are in fact helping maintain the health of the skin through the elimination of hazardous free radicals resulting from cell metabolism. There are even findings of studies that prove how the vitamin could help the human skin recover and rebound from acne Scars and make appearance of acne marks negligible.

Another useful benefit of Vitamin E against acne is that it helps the body regulate the volume of retinol or Vitamin A, which in turn is very important for the overall health of the skin. It is in this regard that researches find Vitamin E ingestion as a great way to treat and improve acne in men and women of all ages.

Taking in sufficient levels of Vitamin E could be a great way to improve and treat acne. Thus, it is advantageous if you would consume those synthetic vitamin E sources, present in many supplements. The vitamin could also be outsourced from natural food like corn, almonds, leafy green vegetables, peanuts, broccoli, sunflower seeds and eggs.

There is no doubt that Vitamin E is one of the most helpful nutrients for fighting acne. Certainly, if healthy levels of the vitamin will be maintained in the body, the problem about acne could be resolved and eliminated. In no time, acne can be a thing of the past. Strive to take in and accumulate more Vitamin E in your body. Doing so will not only benefit your fight against any skin disorders. Other ailments could be prevented like cancer and ageing could be somehow slowed down.

Back to the question, will Vitamin E cause acne? You know what the answer is. In fact, the more logical question should be, ‘will lack of Vitamin E cause acne?’ The answer, it won’t, though presence of the vitamin could help the body get rid of the skin problem.

Treatments for Acne Scars Marks

If left untreated or improperly dealt with, acne can be a real problem. It could leave permanent Scars and marks on the skin, which may serve as reminders about the discomfort and embarrassment caused by having the irritable skin disorder. Worse, acne is among the most prevalent forms of skin problems that may affect just anybody—teenagers, adults and pregnant women.

Often, it is too late to eliminate any permanent marks produced by acne formation. Of course, you should not wallow forever because of the presence of the skin scars. You could actually do something about those marks. Because of the advancement in science and technology, there are now numerous treatments for acne Scars marks available. However, most of such treatments are combination of several procedures and treatments that are integrated to help eliminate acne scars. Here are some of the most common treatments for acne scars and marks.

Augmentation – This procedure is done through injecting safe substances to fill the voids and spaces made by acne scars, especially those crater-like marks. collagen is the most common substance used, though the result may be temporary, which require regular visit to the doctor to redo the procedure.

Laser resurfacing – This procedure is basically laser surgery. Molecular bonds of materials are dissolved through laser energy, often erbium. The damaged cells are targeted for elimination and in the site would be stimulated new growth of collagen. collagen stimulation may be temporary and last until six months, but after two to three treatments, it may be permanent.

Chemical therapy – There are of course several chemicals that could be used to stimulate peeling off of the skin. The chemical solutions used would result to skin blistering and peeling off. When the skin does that, it will naturally regenerate and make new skin cells. The resulting skin regeneration is most of the time smoother and is less wrinkled. The scars are eliminated.

Dermabrasion – This is a cosmetic medical technique wherein the skin surface is taken off by abrasion or sanding. The sun-damaged, scarred and darkened skin is removed. Be advised that this procedure may inflict a little pain, making it require general anesthesia. After the procedure, the spot may seem red and definitely raw-looking. You will have to wait for about several months for skin re-growth.

Subcision – This scar removal process is usually used when eliminating and treating deep rolling scars from acne and other skin disorders. The skin tissue in the affected spot would be separated, creating a blood pool. The deep scar will be leveling off with the skin area. After that, other treatments like chemical peeling and laser resurfacing could be more effectively performed.

Treatments for acne scars marks are certainly effective and safe. However, all the procedures could be very costly. This is the main reason why not all people could take advantage of those medical technology advancements. If you could very well take care of and treat your acne, it will be better so that scarring, marking and permanent discoloration could be effectively prevented.

PERFECT EYEBROWS FOR YOUR FACE SHAPE

My perfect eyebrow video was popular so I’ve decided to give you this in writing. This will make it easier for you all to find your face shape and get those perfect eyebrows. It’s easy. Look at the characteristics of these face shapes, pick your face shape and find out what kind of eyebrows best fit you! If you are really stuck, email me a picture of you and I will see if I can find your face shape.

Step 1: Find your face shape.

• start by pulling your hair back from your face, and with no makeup on, look closely in the mirror.
• The features for each shape to look for are:

Oval

• forehead is wider than the chin
• prominent cheekbones
• face gracefully tapers to a narrow oval chin

Round

• face is almost as wide as it is long
• face is widest at the cheeks

Long

• forehead, cheekbones and jawline are all about the same width
• can tend to have a prominent chin
• has an elongated appearance

Square

• forehead, cheekbones and jawline all about the same width
• squared jawline is the most obvious feature

Heart

• similar to oval but the chin tapers to a point.

Diamond

• not as common as the other face shapes
• typically the face is highly angular
• the forehead is somewhat short
• the face is widest at the temples

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some tips to keep in mind before you read about the perfect eyebrows:

• The same rules apply to putting on makeup as putting on a dress. The goal (for most) is have an hour glass fiqure.

• The stripes on the left will make someone look wider (if that's what you need).
• The stripes on the right make a person look thinner (if that's what you need).

////////////////////////////////////////

STEP 2:Find your perfect eyebrows.

The Oval Face Shape

• This is the face shape the others are working to get towards. The brow plays no role in making the face appear "more oval".
• Selection can be guided by personal taste. (everyone prefers a different look).

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Round Face Shape

To make a round face appear oval one should apply lines that go up the face. This draws the eye more up and down and stops it from going side to side.
A high arched brow accomplishes this.
The peak is best moved out towards the end of the brow. This lets the lines of the brow go up and down as much as possible. The tail should therefore be short.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Heart Face Shape

A rounded shape helps by adding curves to soften the face and emphasizes the lovely heart shape.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Long Face Shape

To make a long face appear oval one should apply horizontal lines to the face. This draws the eye from side to side and stops it from going up and down.
A flat brow stops the eye from going up the face.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Square Face Shape

Strong angled eyebrows balance a strong jawline.
The peak of the brow is most effective when directly above the square of the jaw.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Diamond Face Shape

Either:
A rounded brow softens an angular face or
A peaked brow helps to narrow the width of the typical diamond wide face.

10 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR EYELINER STAY PUT THE ENTIRE DAY

1.1Use a liquid liner because it doesn`t smudge on my Asian eyes. The cheapest and best one I love is Almay 16 hour liquid liner.

2.2. Put concealer on your lid to prepare it so that your pencil eyeliner will adhere to your eyes better. It also gives the pencil line more intensity.

3.3 Freeze your eyeliner in the fridge for 10 min before applying. This way, the line you create is crisp and the eyeliner doesn`t melt on your eyes throughout the day since it is mostly made of wax.

4.4. Dust a bit of powder over your eyes after you finish apply the eyeliner or eye shadow. This will make both the eyeliner and eye shadow stay put forever.

5 5. After putting on your eyeliner, whether it would be black or brown or any other color, dust a complimentary eye shadow on top. This will give your eyes a subtle smoky look without much work. I use an angled brush to do this so that the line isn`t too thick. This will also create a gradient and make your eyes look mesmerizing but natural.

6. 6. Spray some refreshing spring water mist on your face after you finish applying your makeup. Not only will this help make your makeup stay put but your face will look dewy and fresh throughout the day.

7 7. Always pick waterproof or budge-proof eyeliner. Kohl eyeliner looks very nice and natural but they`re only good for the lower lash line or your waterline. Kohl eyeliner is also great for tight lining. For upper lash line however, liquid eyeliner or gel eyeliners stay on better.

8 8. Moisturize before putting on your makeup if you cannot afford a face primer. The stickiness of the moisturizer will make your makeup adhere to your skin. It also doesn`t hurt to look hydrated.

9. 9. Do not apply very thick layers of eyeliner, the excess will smudge. Go over your upper lid once only in two strokes. One from the middle to the outer part of the eye and one from the middle to the inner part of the eye.

10. 10. Apply the eyeliner to a clean face with a bit of moisturizer and make sure that there is not much oil on the lids. The oil glands on the eyelid do produce oil throughout the day so use a blotting paper to blot out the excess oil or your eyeliner will find a way to transfer onto your lid.

WACKY, BIZARRE SECRET TIPS THAT ALL GIRLS SHOULD KNOW

I found this on the cosmopolitan site and thought it was really cool. I must share this with you. Here is a sample of crazy secrets. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

1) Powder Your Roots
If your hairline starts to look greasy, dig up a big, fluffy makeup brush, and dip it into a pot of loose powder. Tap it once on the back of your hand to remove the excess, then dust it over your roots. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn't shower.

2) Spot-Treat Smudges
Dip a cotton swab in eye-makeup remover, and trace it along your lids to erase any slipups or goofs when there's no time to redo your whole look.

3) Tame Brows with Eye Cream
Pat any kind of rich eye cream over brows to help keep them hydrated and banish those icky white specks that look like dandruff.

4) Brush on Hair Spray
For the final step of your blow-dry, spray hair spray onto your brush, and run it through strands from roots to tips. This way, your do isn't so plastered and stiff but still holds volume and shine.

5) Freeze Your Eyeliner
If the tip of your eyeliner pencil crumbles and smears on your lids, store the liner in the freezer for 15 minutes before use so the tip is firm and goes across your skin smoothly.

6) Use Toothpaste on a Zit
Use just a pea-size amount. Let sit for 15 minutes to absorb the oil so the pimple won't get more clogged, then wash off.

7) Heat Up Your Curler
If you have stick-straight lashes, try blasting your metal eyelash curler with a hair dryer for a couple seconds to heat it up so your lashes bend more easily. And use a waterproof mascara. The formula dries faster than other mascaras, so it sets the curl more effectively.

8) Use Soap Without Water
You know those fancy bars that are actually too pretty to use? Toss them in your underwear or tee-shirt drawers to make your skin smell delicious.

9) Use Makeup Remover on Stubborn Lipstick
Don't try to rub off red lipstick (which makes it smear across your mouth — not so sexy). Instead, take a cotton ball or tissue, dip it in makeup remover, and just dab to erase the dark stain fast.

10) Press a Tea Bag on Splotches
If your skin is sensitive or just looking irritated and puffy for some reason, steep a bag of green tea for a minute or two, let it cool down, and dab it over your face. The antioxidants in the tea take down inflammation.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: PICKING THE RIGHT FOUNDATION

I have a problem with picking the right foundation. Honestly, I can never find the right color. When I do find the right color, I don't like the texture of my skin and so on and so on. I give up! So I want to take some time to share with you some foundations that I have tried and liked. Again, I'm grouping them into categories since not everyone have the same foundation needs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For acne prone skin:
Recommend: Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Makeup

Purpose: It is oil free so it won't clog pores and worsen acne. It also helps to conceal redness. I love this one especially because it is affordable and contains salicylic acid, one of the most effective pimple-fighting ingredient.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

For dry skin:
Recommend: Almay TLC Truly Lasting Color 16 Hour Makeup Skin Nourishing Longwear SPF 15

Purpose: It comes in a cream-like texture
and contains antioxidants to make up for the lost H2O in your skin. Your skin will look non-greasy and moisturized the whole day.

--------------------------------------------------

For skin with fine lines:

Recommend: Estée Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Ultra Firming Makeup SPF 15

Purpose: Heavy makeup make lines look deeper, so this is a lightweight formula made of soy. Soy helps to tighten lines that dwell around the eye and mouth area.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For uneven skin:

Recommend: Chanel Mat Lumière Long-Lasting Soft Matte Makeup SPF 15

Purpose: Created with a matte base containing light reflecting molecules to camouflage those spots, uneven surfaces and sallo
wness. Definitely my lifesaver!

THE MINERAL FOUNDATION HYPE

Minerals are huge right now. It's on TV, in the store, ads, everywhere. I do love the fact that it is great for your skin. But honestly I have tried at least 10 kinds of mineral makeup right now and I will share with you my experience with them. Hopefully this will help you to decide which ones to start with. Let me know if you need help deciding.

Bare minerals

My Experience: I love the matte yet dewy finish. The coverage is a lot better than just a regular powder. I enjoyed it quite a lot and would purchase it again.

Pro: Great finish, buildable coverage, natural-looking, waterproof, flawless finish

Con: Expensive, cakey if applied too much, slides off on oily skin

Suitable for: those with combination and sensitive skin

Rating: 8 stars

Sheer Cover Minerals

My experience: This to me was similar to Bare minerals. The one thing that was different was that it was a lot lighter than Bare Minerals. The shades also adapted to my skin color easier. The concealing power isn't so great but then they have the best creamy concealer so that makes up for it.

Pro: Light weight, natural, decent coverage, flawless finish

Con: Poor packaging, expensive, messy to use

Suitable for: Those with not much to conceal wanting a light coverage.

Rating: 7 stars

Pur Minerals

My experience: I personally love this. Some people have a problem with this but I tried it on and it was instant gratification. It was flawless, matte and makes you look like you are about to do a photoshoot.

Pro: flawless, not messy(comes in a pressed powder form), great coverage, natural colors, matte finish, multipurpose (4 in 1)

Con: sometimes drying, not much color selection

Suitable for: Quick, on the go, perfect skin.

Rating: 8.5 stars

Everyday Minerals

My experience: This is my most recent purchase. The first time I put it on, it had a nice texture. Overall, the coverage is good, not great. What I like about it is that there is such a wide selection of shades available, you are bound to get the true shade. Also, it looks oh-so natural on everyone.

Pro: Natural, Affordable, Choose from various finishes (original glow, intensive, matte, semi-matte), long wearing

Con: not flawless coverage, packaging too plastic

Suitable for: everyone depending on which finish you want.

Rating: 8.5-9 stars (not so sure because the coverage is not as great as Pur Minerals)

Physician's Formula Mineral Foundation

My experience: I use them on a regular basis. I only use them on top of liquid foundation as a setting powder. The foundation is rather natural and doesn't cover up but it makes a nice and matte finish.

Pro: cheap, good for sensitive skin, convenient packaging (do not use brush)

Con: comes off easily, doesn't cover much

Suitable for: those with sensitive skin or not much to conceal.

Rating: 6.5

Prestige MultiTasking SkinLoving Minerals

My experience: I bought this on a whim because it was a multitasking powder with concealing properties. This fits my busy lifestyle so I gave it a try. Much to my surprise, it was a lot better than I expected. Cheap and worth your money!

Pros: good coverage, buildable coverage, cheap, easy to use, fast fix

Cons: medium staying powder, little shade selection

Suitable for: those who wants to get out the door in 5 minutes and pay little.

Stars: 8.5 stars

L'oreal Bare Naturalle Mineral Foundation

My experience: I heard some good things about this so I bought it. I was not really impressed. However I do believe that it is because I have much to conceal and it didn't do the job. Overall, it was a decent mineral foundation with normal staying powder.

Pros: cheap, easy to apply applicator, very natural looking, lightweight

Cons: poor brush, not flawless coverage, not super longlasting, powdery looking

Suitable for: oily skin, those wanting natural coverage with not much to conceal

Stars: 6.5 stars

MOST VERSATILE PRODUCT EVER

I'm sure most of you love MAC. Most products are used for one thing, but MAC has an item for girls who are addicted to textures and shades! Use them for endless possibilities. Introducing MAC pigments! These pigments stay on all day are made of very concentrated powder. They blend blend blend well with the skin and sticks to it for hours. All you need is a little bit and you'll have a look you can't get with other products. The entire jar lasted me 3 years. No kidding. So let me tell you what these pigments can be used for!

1. Eyeshadows- Ofcourse! Play with those colors and micro-powders and blend.

2. Highlighter- Mix it (light colors) with your moisturizer for a subtle or glamorous glow to be used on brow bone, cheeks, forehead.

3. Bronzer- Mix it with powder for a powdered bronzer look or moisturizer for a cream textured sun tan

3. Nail polish- add it to your matte colors to create an immediate shiny texture. No need to splurge on an extra nail polish. You can also change the color of the nail polish.

4. glimmery eyes- For eyes with matte eyeshadow, add shine to your eyes for depth and glow.

5. Blush- If you like shimmery blushes. This is perfect. Get a pinkish shade and give those cheeks a flash of color. Mix it with moisturizer for a creamy look . Tone the glow down by adding powder or just use the pigments directly if you want dramatic cheeks!

I'm sure there are MORE things you can do with this. INVENT your own ways! Let me know if any of you come up with other possibilities!

HOW TO GET HEALTHY, LONG EYELASHES FOR THE SUMMER

I am obsessed with getting those long luscious eyelashes! I can never ever get them because asians usually don't have long eyelashes but I try anyway. Let me share some ideas on how to make eyelashes look long even though they are really sparse and short.

Step 1. Grow them out naturally.

Double-Lash Mavala Switzerland eyelash Growth Mascara:
It goes on clear with a wand-like a mascara. It is supposed to make your eyelashes longer, thicker and darker. I have given this a try and it actually worked! It took 2 months to see results but I was happy.

Step 2: Protect them.
No waterproof mascara: waterproof mascara usually flakes your eyelashes and make them even more brittle. It is hard to take off too. Rub vitamin E oil into eyelashes: I know this sounds really strange but I started doing that and my eyelashes seem ed healthier. Never sleep with mascara: Sleeping with mascara will only allow the chemicals to stay on the eyelashes longer. At night time especially, the hair follicles become very susceptible to breakage.

Don't touching your eyelashes or rubbing your eyes too much: I do that a lot. Shame on me. Avoid touching it because it will fall out.

Step 3: Pick the right mascara for yourself.

High end:
For length: Lancome Definicil- This is one of my favourite mascaras. Hands down.

For volume: Christian Dior's Dior Show- A little pricey but love the volume it brings out.

Low end:

For length: Loreal telescopic mascara- I use it almost every day because it's affordable and does the job. Really good at separating too!

For volume: Loreal's voluminous- the stars are using it. I'm not completely flattered by it but it doesn't clump unlike most mascaras. So kudos for that.

For natural healthy eyelashes: Almay One Coat Mascara- I figured some of you want a mascara that can potentially be beneficial to your eyelashes. I like this one because it looks so natural and I believe it has vitamins in the formula to help lashes remain strong!

CHEEKS

Brrrrrrrr...it's so cold when you are outside in the snow. But don't you just love those rosy cheeks you get from being outside? That's why I think rosy cheeks will be perfect for the holiday season. Nothing better than naturally glowing cheeks that make you look like you just came back from a snowball fight!

Tip 1: Use one of those shade smart blushes. The ones with microbeads that turn into the perfect blush color for you when you put it on. This will give you the best natural blush ever.
Recommend: Almay Smart Shade blush, Smashbox O-Glow blush.

Tip 2: Apply it in the right areas. Smile and dab it right on those cheeks. Plus, blend blend blend.

LOOK GORGEOUS WITHOUT PULLING A SWEAT

Just want to share some ideas with you. Face it, being girls are not easy. We have to do our makeup, hair, nails. On top of that we wax, shave, and go crazy over skincare. Do we have that much time on our hands? I certainly don't. So I found these quick beauty tips so we can say goodbye to spending hours in the washroom everyday. Enjoy!

Use a primer:
Definitely a good investment because you do not need to reapply your makeup throughout the day. Your makeup stays on all day and your skin looks silky smooth too. My two favourites are MAC prep and prime and the legendary Smashbox primer.

Buy a neutral eyeshadow palette:
I know we all want to create those colorful looks. Those looks take hours to accomplish. Why not stick to a neutral palette. Stick to a routine. I'm not saying that once in a while you shouldn't be creative but to save time, having a neutral palette saves time and gives a very mature look. NARS multiple in orgasm would be great too since you can use it on your lids, lips and cheeks!

Try a two step smoky eye:
Eyeliner. Mascara. That's it! Pick a blendable eyeliner and smudge it so its smoky and sultry. Then layer on the mascara for a simple sexy look. A kohl eyeliner would be the most blendable. Altogether it only takes a minute or so. Do give it a shot. Practice makes perfect.

Turn day makeup into night makeup in minutes:
There are only three things you need; dark lipstick, matte bronzer and a sexy violet eyeliner. Those three things will show up on your face at night the most and give you a natural yet sexy and glamorous look.

Tone down the shampoo:
We want silky, clean hair but how much is too much? Your hair has natural oil that keeps them looking shiny. These oils also protect your hair and scalp. Ditch the old "shampoo-rinse-repeat". Wash your hair every other day if you are mostly staying indoors to prevent hair from drying.

Let your hair style while you are sleeping:

After washing your hair, braid them or put them in a low bun. The next morning, pretty waves. Spray on some hairspray or work mousse into your hair and you are good to go!

HOW TO GET ACNE-FREE, CLEAR SKIN

I have very oily skin and went through periods of breakouts. I hated my skin for the longest time and only recently did I manage to control the amount of breakouts I have. If anyone of you out there have acne prone skin then please read. I have tried all the products you can imagine and would like to share with you my experiences.

(~Drugstore Products~)

Clean and Clear Persa Gel 5-

They work decent for on spot treatments. It contains 5% benzoyl peroxide which is the strongest dosage of medication for non-prescription drugs. I like how there is no smell in this medication. Use it at the first site of a pimple so you can zap them away before they even begin.

Clean and Clear Blackhead Astringent-

I have used it a couple of times. They do make your skin less oily but for those of you with sensitive skin, be careful. Test it on a small area on your face first before using it. After using this, you’ll notice that your skin is smoother and less oily but don’t forget to moisturize! Although they do prevent blackheads, they do not dramatically eliminate them so you still have to actually take the blackheads out yourself.

St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub-

This is one product that I would recommend to everyone. Not necessarily the medicated version but they have versions for all skin types. These scrubs are made with a Swiss formula and added with beads made out of apricot nuts. You skin feels like it has been renewed and a new layer of skin shed! I call this the mini-microdermabrasion in a tube!

(~High End Products~)

Clinique 3 Step System

I am currently using this system. It makes my skin feel very smooth. The cleanser’s only job is to clean skin and it does a good job of that. The toner to me seems more like a blackhead control astringent so it keeps the amount of oil on my face under control. The dramatically different moisturizer is my favourite part. It has won many awards and after using this product, my skin feels smooth.

Microdermabrasion

I used it a couple of times. They are good if you have a layer of dead skin cells you want to get rid of. I use it to even out the acne scars I have on my face. I see a huge difference after the first usage but then afterwards I found that I had to keep using it if I want the same effect.

Vichy Acne Products

Their line is famous in Europe. It has managed to spread to North America for a solid reason. If this were not pricey I would be continuing to use this product. All of their products tend to sensitive skin. I love the smell of this product. The result of using the system lasts not only a few hours but throughout the day. Please get these if you have mild acne and want the perfect product for it.

Zeno acne clearing Device

I bought this and then returned it. It worked pretty well when I had an inflamed pimple and it was really red. In 30 seconds I got rid of the redness. However, the pimple seemed to take longer to disappear. It was not a product for me. Although I have heard many other reviews and it seemed to work for them. So you can give it a try but I warn you, it is only to zap away a pimple here and there for emergencies. It doesn’t prevent future breakouts.

(~Medication~)

Tetracycline

FLAWLESS SKIN

It's Christmas and the snow is falling. Nothing is worse than blemishes, freckles and dark circles on your face. Picture a snow princess or angel, porcelain and pristine. So let's ditch the bronzer and tan for a season!

Tip 1: Use a primer. It'll create the perfect canvas for your face that will help your makeup stay put and fill in pores.
Recommend: Smashbox Studio Fix, Revlon's Au Naturelle Primer

Tip 2: Conceal with a multicolored palette. Don't think that your skin comes in one shade. Our skin has many pigments. Use yellow for dark circles and green for redness.
Recommend: Benefit's multicolored concealer, Lise Watier (available only in Canada), Physician's formula Concealer Sticks.

Tip 3: Mineral foundation. I know some of you really dread layers and layers of makeup on your face but full coverage doesn't have to be thick coverage. Try a mineral makeup. You buff on as many layers as you want and still feel like you are wearing nothing.
Recommend: Bare Escentuals foundation, Physician's Formula mineral foundation, Revlon's Mineral Makeup

Tip 4: Spray on some natural spring water. This will set your makeup so it will last all day. Believe it or not, having water on your face will make your makeup rather waterproof for those of you living in rainy or snowy places. Plus, it will hydrate your skin for the dry winter. So very multi-functional!

LIPS

Marilyn Monroe, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani. What do they all have in common? They are huge fans of red, bold lips. Me too but when I first tried red lips, it looked horrible. After some experimentation, I finally figured out why!

Tip 1:
Use a lip liner. Contrary to popular believe, you are not supposed to match your lip liner with your lipstick. Match it with your lips because the point of a lip liner is to accentuate your lips, not your lipstick.

Tip 2: If you have thin lips or if you just want poutier lips, use a gloss on top. This will make the color underneath last longer.

Tip 3: Use one of those long lasting lipstick. One side with color, the other side with gloss. No doubt you will be munching on something throughout the day during the holidays. Nothing more annoying than reapplying every hour.
Recommend: Revlon's Colorstay Lipstick, Mac's Prowear lipstick, Maxfactor's lipstick.

For those with thin lips: apply gloss on top of your red lipstick. The trick is to make them look bigger. Matte red lipstick will shrink your lips, it did to mine.
Recommend: MAC red lipsticks and glosses, Clarin's Joli Rouge (my personal favorite)

For those with full lips: you will look gorgeous in matte red lipstick. It will look classy and elegant.
Recommend: Revlon's Matte collection lipstick (I'm in love with this one), Mac's matte lipstick

• not as common as the other face shapes
• typically the face is highly angular

Here are some tips to keep in mind before you read about the perfect eyebrows:

• The same rules apply to putting on makeup as putting on a dress. The goal (for most) is have an hour glass fiqure.

• The stripes on the left will make someone look wider (if that's what you need).
• The stripes on the right make a person look thinner (if that's what you need).

STEP 2:Find your perfect eyebrows.

The Oval Face Shape

• This is the face shape the others are working to get towards. The brow plays no role in making the face appear "more oval".
• Selection can be guided by personal taste. (everyone prefers a different look).

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Heart Face Shape

A rounded shape helps by adding curves to soften the face and emphasizes the lovely heart shape.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Long Face Shape

To make a long face appear oval one should apply horizontal lines to the face. This draws the eye from side to side and stops it from going up and down.
A flat brow stops the eye from going up the face.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The Square Face Shape

Strong angled eyebrows balance a strong jawline.
The peak of the brow is most effective when directly above the square of the jaw.

The Diamond Face Shape

Either:
A rounded brow softens an angular face or
A peaked brow helps to narrow the width of the typical diamond wide face.
