How to Make Relaxing and Healing Facial Masks

Making facial masks at home is easy and inexpensive. You can make them to match your needs and moods. Learn to use ingredients on hand and those that are in season. Making your own energizing facials is as fun and relaxing as having a facial in an expensive spa.

Ground Almond Energizing Facial

Step1
Chill about 1/4 cup of pure, filtered or bottled water. You can do this by refrigeration or by adding ice.
Step2
Add two drops of ylang-ylang, petitgrain and lemon essential oils to the chilled water. You can purchase these at health food stores or order them from online vendors.
Step3
Mix in ground almonds. Grind almonds in a spice mill or a coffee grinder until they are semi-fine. Mix in enough almonds to form a thick paste.
Step4
Apply to your face and leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Applying this facial an hour before you go out, gives your face a glowing, energized look.

Strawberry Facial

Step1
Wash and dry four to six very ripe strawberries. Place in a bowl and mash well with a fork. Strawberries are very good for your skin. The vitamin C in strawberries energizes the skin, while the anti-inflammatory properties help with blemishes.
Step2
Add just enough heavy cream to the strawberries to make a paste. The cream helps soothe irritated skin.
Step3
Mix in a tablespoon of honey. Honey is natural moisturizer and is also good for stressed and over-stimulated skin.
Step4
Apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Gently remove with a moist cloth.
