Budget Beauty Tips

In today’s economy, everyone is nervous about finances. It seems that for everyone money is short and anxiety is high. Despite that, your appearance is important, and you want to take care that you are keeping it up. The important thing to remember is just because your finances are a bit tight you do not have to sacrifice your beauty routine. In fact, there are lots of great money saving steps that will keep you looking great, and anxiety free!

One big key to saving help save your money is to make your beauty products and supplies last longer. For example, and be honest. Most of us women have a couple of tubes of lipstick that have some left in the tube, but you just cannot get to it. Or perhaps your favorite lipstick broke. Instead of running out and buying a brand new tube take a bit of time to reallocate that lipstick. Grab a pillbox and scrape that unused lipstick into it. You will be surprised at how much there actually is, and you will be able to hold off on spending extra money for a while. To make it look like a beautiful new pallet all that you need to do is pop them into the microwave for a few seconds so that they melt into place. Then pop them into the fridge to harden. After that, no one will be able to tell that you simply recycled your used lipsticks. Instead, it will look like a pallet that you bought from the store.

Nail polish is something that actually costs quite a bit of money, and you never seem to be able to use it effectively. In fact, you are probably spending anywhere from $4-$7 per bottle of nail polish. However, more often than not, you will find that it is either drying out or that you only have a little left in the bottle. The key to making this last a little longer is to simply drop a little bit of nail polish remover into the bottle. It really only takes a couple of drops, and then you simply need to shake it up. Once you have done that you will be pleased to see that your nail polish will be just like new!

Haircuts can be really expensive today. If you are going to a top-notch salon, you may be spending over a hundred dollars every time that you get your hair trimmed. This can really start to put a big strain on your checkbook. Instead, why not be a bit creative. Beauty schools are a great option to help you reduce your hair care costs. The great thing about getting your hair cut at a beauty school is that, obviously, you will be saving money, but a licensed instructor will be right there supervising your haircut. This ensures that you will be happy with the results.

Speaking of beauty schools, did you know that there are massage therapy schools? A massage is the ultimate indulgence for your weary bones, but massage prices can skyrocket to over $200 at some luxurious spas. Due to that, many cannot afford to indulge, but this is where a massage therapy school comes in. Many of these schools offer weekend clinics to allow their students to practice on actual clients. Often these clinics offer a massage for as little as $30.

Blemishes are always a sore spot when it comes to maintaining your beauty. However, if you have a pimple pop up you do not need to run to the nearest cosmetic counter to buy an expensive pimple remedy. Instead, all that you need to do is to reach into your medicine cabinet. Simply take out your tube of toothpaste and place a dab of it onto your pimple. The toothpaste will actively shrink your pimple, and it will soon disappear.

Tweezers are expensive, but they are a necessary tool to keep your eyebrows neat and clean. To keep your tweezers sharp the easiest thing to do is to whip out some sand paper. Use the sandpaper to sharpen up the edges. After a couple of quick rubs, you will be thrilled at how sharp and effective your old standby tweezers are!

Are you looking for a soothing and hydrating hair treatment? Instead of purchasing a hot oil treatment for your head or going to a salon where they will charge you an arm and a leg for a deep conditioning treatment, simply walk into the kitchen. Go to your fridge and pull out the eggs. One of the best things that you can do to restore the moisture and softness to your hair is to scramble up a raw egg and to apply it to your hair. The best place to do this is in the shower, and let the egg sit for a couple of minutes. Then go ahead and wash the egg off. You will be surprised at how shiny and soft your hair appears afterward.

The truth is that beauty is expensive, but it does not have to be. The key is to take care of the beauty supplies that you do spend money on. Make sure that you are storing them properly, but additionally by being a little creative, and pulling things from your pantry, medicine cabinet, and refrigerator you will keep yourself looking and feeling great.
